Underfloor Heating

Our resin systems are compatible with underfloor heating and are more energy efficient as the heat has less distance to travel.

Minimum screed depth of 10mm is required. Underfloor heating should be switched on 2-3 weeks prior to resin installation.

Temperatures:

  • Installation: 18-20°C
  • Post installation do not exceed 25°C for first 7 days
  • Max temp: 27°C

Note: during installation underfloor heating should be kept at a constant temperature.
High variation of temperature can affect curing of the resin and overall finish quality.

Sealers

The final coating for our decorative resin flooring system is a seal coating. This acts as a wear coat to protect the design coat underneath. It also provides some degree of UV protection. We have various different sealers available depending on your requirements.

  • UVR (High Gloss Finish)
  • PU Satin / Gloss
  • WB Matte / Gloss
  • Polyaspartic (High Gloss Finish)

For the most hard-wearing sealer we recommend PU Satin. This has the highest scratch resistance. Gloss sealers are the least hard-wearing, therefore preventive measures need to be considered along with strict maintenance. Please review our Sealers Chart for further information.

Resin flooring systems are extremely durable but are not indestructible. Care and attention should be considered for keeping your floor in the best condition possible.

Slip Resistance

Our flooring systems can achieve a slip rating of R12 with our anti-slip additives. Please speak to the Arc team in regards to slip ratings and slip reports.

If a specific slip rating is required we recommend having independent testing completed on your floor to ensure rating has been achieved.

White Floors

Like many products, epoxy floors are affected by UV light. Over time this can cause discolouration / fading of your design. This is more applicable to white floors.

To prevent rapid discolouration we recommend the following:

  • UV Protection applied to windows during installation and until full cure (7 days). Curing process will take longer in lower temperatures.
  • Permanent Clear UV Protection applied to windows prevents 98.99% of UV light. If required we will supply this

UV Stable Sealers - See our Sealers Chart for the most UV resistant sealers available.

We have a non yellowing design coat engineered from non epoxy based products, therefore it is not affected by UV in the same way as epoxy. Please speak to a member of the team for more information.
